In 2004, Holley, the Common Sense Environmentalist, founded H2 Ecodesign a sustainability collaborative creating high performance buildings, building products and sustainability services. Initially, H2 Ecodesign helped clients develop and implement sustainable strategies such as: facilitating green building certifications (LEED), training workshops, consulting on green products and market position. Globally, H2 Ecodesign has accomplished over 4 million square feet of successful LEED Certifications including many pioneering “firsts” such as:
- First LEED-CI Platinum in United States
- First LEED-CI in China
- First LEED in Thailand
- First LEED Platinum Spa
Next, H2 Ecodesign shifted from building certifications to advancing education and partnership outreach for the non-profit Chemical Insights Research Institute (CIRI) of UL Research Institutes.
This work focused on translating scientific research into actionable strategies to improve human health and wellness in the built environment.
“After the successful first LEED CI Gold certification in China, it was an easy decision to work with the H2 team a second time. We have now secured Platinum certification on our office interior and manufacturing facility in Shanghai. Our experience is that the final step of moving from registration through commissioning to certification is where it is easy to waiver – H2 kept us on track through that.”
